This presentation shows five practical approaches for teaching suprasegmentals to intermediate/advanced learners. Visualize it makes suprasegmentals visible, Embody it employs physical movement, Contextualize it reveals intonation’s meaning in different conversational contexts, Change it around promotes fluency, and Give it meaning interprets others’ speech. Participants will practice and adapt the approaches.
