We use running records and informal reading inventories to assess ELs’ reading, but which errors are a result of emergent language versus beginning literacy skills? This presentation summarizes new research on this topic, and will help you to identify the top five language-related errors EL students make when reading.

Uncovering 'Best Practices' for Peer-Review
This paper explores what L2 composition teachers consider best practices for implementing peer-review and the principles that underlie these best practices. Teacher interview data was used to explore these topics, and the results were used to uncover principled and innovative practices for implementing peer-review in the L2 composition classroom.
