I have a Master’s in Linguistics with a TESOL option and Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in Language, Literacy, and Culture. After teaching both ESL and linguistics for 15 years, I went back to pursue a Ph.D. with the goal of doing research on Language Awareness to support pre-service teachers in building Language Awareness into their work with elementary school children. I am a former Saroyan Chapter member of CATESOL and currently the Treasurer of Steinbeck Chapter of CATESOL.
